Elektrod Karbon Superkapasitor daripada Tandan Sawit: Kegunaan Termaju Produk Sampingan Industri Sawit
Karbon digunakan dengan meluas sebagai bahan elektrod dalam
superkapasitor. Karbon boleh dihasilkan daripada bahan pemula organik
seperti gas hidrokarbon, petroleum, arang batu, polimer dan biojisim
melalui proses pengkarbonan yang dapat mengeluarkan bahan bukan karbon
sehingga meninggalkan karbon sebagai produk akhir. Kelebihan biojisim
ialah sumbernya boleh diperbaharui, kosnya murah, terdapat dalam jumlah
yang banyak dan mudah diproses. Penyelidikan ini menggunakan biojisim
produk sampingan loji sawit, iaitu serabut tandan kepala sawit, untuk
menghasilkan bahan pemula sekunder yang dinamakan serbuk karbon
swa-merekat (SKSM), melalui proses pengkarbonan suhu rendah.

electrode material in supercapacitor. Carbon can be produced from
organic precursor such as hydrocarbon gases, petroleum, coal, polymer
and biomass by carbonization process that can remove non-carbon contents
and produce carbon as a nal product. The advantages of biomass are its
source is renewable, cheap, available in large quantity and easy to
process into carbon. This research uses biomass byproduct from palm oil
mill, that is, oil palm bunches, as a precursor to produce a secondary
precursor, namely, self-adhesive carbon grains (SACGs), by a low
temperature carbonization process.
